The Importance of A/C System Maintenance

Just like your car needs a tune-up and oil change to operate efficiently and prevent breakdown, your A/C and Heating system also needs regular maintenance. It is important to schedule this twice a year check up in the Spring and Fall before your system is being required to operate at full capacity for either cooling or heating.

Here are some of the things a technician does when performing routine maintenance on your system:

• Check refrigerant levels
• Test for refrigerant leaks
• Check for duct leaks (if applicable)
• Measure airflow 
• Check and monitor control sequences 
• Check electric terminals, clean and tighten connections
• Oil motors, check belts for wear and tear
• Check thermostat for accuracy

By checking, cleaning, and maintaining your system, your A/C will run more efficiently and at its peak performance level.
